Women in World War II


Oh yes, here they come, we CAN do it! Women begin to "man" the machines, contribute to household incomes and contribute to the war efforts. Many women had to go without ribbon, fabrics, and other materials throughout the war, since they were being used to fight the Axis powers. The art piece shown above portrays how women could cut back and use their resources for only necessary times, and carry the groceries (which they bought with THEIR earned money) without using a car. Women are essential during world war II, and were now creating the idea of greater equality in the United States.
