Trench Combat

Trench Combat made its large and prevalent appearance during World War I, bringing with it great death and little ground gain. The brutality of the idea of thousands dying for nothing more than 10 yards is shocking, yet it was a blemish in our military's history. Along with Trench Warfare came new problems, such as trench foot and gangreen, both resulting in loss of limb. The ideas of trench warfare will be forgotten early in World War II and new tactics will be introduced.
